IEMA International Diploma in Sustainable Business Practice in Tbilisi, Georgia

We are happy to announce that IEMA International Diploma in Sustainable Business Practice is now available for the first time in Tbilisi, Georgia. IEMA International Diploma course will be delivered by Make UK, only accredited organization that holds rights from IEMA on the provision of this course. Studies will be delivered in the English language.

Until present, IEMA International Diploma courses were available only in the UK, in Make UK venues. SDSC made an agreement with Make UK and starting from December 2019 IEMA International Diploma in Sustainable Business Practice will be available in Tbilisi making SDSC the only provider offering this course outside the UK. It is this unique position which should highlight the quality of SDSC and the fact that Make UK have looked to partner SDSC should be seen as a huge endorsement to the organisers of this course in Georgia.

The IEMA International Diploma will benefit managers, advisers, consultants and others with a specialist environmental or sustainability role, who wish to build their strategic knowledge and skills. It addresses a wide range of environmental and sustainability issues and topics, including environmental and social risk identification, strategies for improving performance and personal effectiveness to instigate and lead change. 

The programme enables delegates to gain the knowledge needed to progress to Full Membership of IEMA (MIEMA) and Chartered Environmentalist status (CEnv). It is delivered in three one-week modules (15 days total spread out over year period), one week per quarter and Diploma can be obtained within one year.

Program is considered for:

Mid and Senior Level leaders working for private companies, international organizations, government agencies in the field of Environmental, Social, Regulatory Compliance, Sustainable Development, Corporate Social Responsibility, Health and Safety, Quality, Education and are on the positions to initiate and implement changes within their organizations in the direction of sustainable business development.

Information About the Course Leader

Program in Tbilisi will be led by James Wise – Sustainability Lead of Make UK.

James is the National Sustainability Lead based in the Sheffield office. A Fellow Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment and a Chartered Environmentalist, James has worked in the environmental field for over 18 years. James is responsible for maintaining and delivering a range of accredited environmental training courses and was responsible for the development of the current IEMA Diploma course. Prior to joining Make UK James worked for over 20 years holding a number of positions including Group Environmental and Sustainability Manager roles, he was responsible for maintaining legal compliance, waste reduction efforts and reporting to a number of voluntary and legislative schemes.

Pre-Requisites

Prospective candidates should be aware this is a professional level qualification approximately equivalent to Masters’ degree level (level 7).

Prospective delegate shall meet one of the following criteria:

  • Practitioner level Membership of IEMA or equivalent (NEBOSH qualification);
  • Educational background in Environmental sciences or Sustainable Development;
  • Practical experience in HSEQ disciplenes (Health and Safety, Environment, Quality) or Sustainability role would be preferable.

Candidates are expected to be fluent in English. Final admission decision to the program will be made after the personal interview.

Assessment

Assessment of each module is a workplace-based assignment (8-12 weeks), giving delegates the opportunity to combine work and study directly as the assignments will be of benefit to employers.

4,995 GBP (equivalent in GEL according the official exchange rate published by the National Bank of Georgia on the day of payment). Price includes taxes, course materials, meals, guidance, and mentoring throughout the course.
